Partners

Following is a list of some of our partners:

Henri Nouwen Legacy Trust

The Nouwen Legacy Trust exists to steward and protect Henri Nouwen's literary legacy and is the legal guardian of the legacy. It works with publishers and authors to ensure the orderly development of Nouwen related publications and it financially supports the Henri Nouwen Archives at St. Michael's University.

The Henri Nouwen Society depends completely on donations to fund its activities and is grateful to receive a modest annual grant from the Nouwen Legacy Trust.

L'Arche

Henri Nouwen spent the last ten years of his life as a member of the worldwide Federation of L'Arche, so it is no surprise that the Nouwen Society works closely with L'Arche wherever it can. The spiritual vision that undergirds L'Arche is one that attracted Henri and one to which he made important contributions. Several members of L'Arche are currently collaborating with the Nouwen Society in its national retreat initiative.

Intercordia

Intercordia is a university-accredited educational experience founded by Jean Vanier that promotes cross-cultural understanding and moral responsiveness in students. Intercordia believes that with the proper supports, cross-cultural respect for difference and inequality can be learned. This effort would counter the current status quo where ethnic, cultural, and religious differences often lead to fear and division. The Henri Nouwen Society is providing practical support for the initial growth and development of Intercordia. To find out more about Intercordia Canada please visit www.intercordiacanada.org.

Christianity and Culture programme at the University of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto, Regis College in the University of Toronto, and L'Arche Daybreak.

The Nouwen Society is co-sponsoring “Turning the Wheel: Henri Nouwen and Our Search for God” in May 2006 This will be the first major international forum for the presentation of work by Nouwen scholars – both new and established. The aim is to bring together people who have been studying, teaching, publishing or writing about Nouwen over the last ten years to exchange ideas and reflect on the legacy and the future. A panel of biographers will be a highlight.
